Privacy Policy

Data Stored on Your Device

Private Female Biomarker stores all your health records locally on your iPhone using Apple's platform storage mechanisms. This includes:

• Lab reports and panel images you capture or upload
• Biomarker readings, values, and reference ranges
• Lab names, test dates, and collection information
• Your personal notes and observations
• Source file copies (original PDFs and images)
• App preferences and settings
• Reminder schedules for future lab draws

Important: The app does not require you to create an account. No cloud account. No email login. Your data is stored exclusively on your device.

Permissions & Access

The app requests specific permissions only for features you actively use:

Camera

To photograph lab panels directly in the app. This is optional—you can import existing photos instead.

Photo Library

To import lab images or PDFs you've already saved. The app accesses only the files you explicitly select.

File Access

To import lab reports in PDF format. Again, you choose which files to import.

Notifications

To send you local reminders for upcoming lab draws. These notifications are generated on your device; we cannot access notification settings.

On-Device Processing

When you photograph a lab report, the app uses Apple's Vision framework to extract text and data directly on your iPhone. This happens entirely on your device:

• OCR (text extraction) happens locally using Apple Vision
• Your source files, extracted text, and notes remain on your iPhone
• No intermediate servers process your image data
• You can export or delete your data at any time

Third‑party AI Service (OpenAI)

The "AI explanation" feature is optional. When you tap Create explanation on a lab draw, the app shows a confirmation alert and only after you tap Send to OpenAI transmits the following through our backend proxy (a Cloudflare Worker that exists solely to keep our OpenAI API key off your device): marker names, values, units, reference ranges, draw date, source type, and the optional women's‑context fields you set on that draw (cycle phase, life stage, hormone context). The following are never sent: the source PDF or photo, the OCR text, the lab name, your notes, your name, your email, or any account or device identifier. The app has no user account system. The recipient is OpenAI (https://openai.com), which processes the request under the OpenAI API Data Usage Policies (https://openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies); API inputs are not used to train OpenAI's models by default, providing protection equivalent to what this policy describes. We do not retain request bodies on the proxy.

Exports and Sharing

When you choose to export or share your data, you control exactly what leaves your device:

• JSON Export: Complete record export for your records
• Clinician PDF: Professional summary formatted for healthcare providers
• Charts & Images: Visual representations for sharing with doctors
• Source Copies: Original lab images and PDFs

Data only leaves your device through actions you explicitly initiate (email, file share, etc.).

Payments & Subscriptions

All subscription and purchase management happens through Apple's App Store:

• Apple processes all payment information
• We never receive your credit card details
• We receive only confirmation that a purchase was made
• Manage subscriptions anytime through your Apple account settings

Analytics, Tracking & Third‑Party SDKs

Zero analytics. Zero tracking. Zero third‑party SDKs except OpenAI. Private Female Biomarker does not:

• Use analytics services of any kind
• Track you across other apps or websites
• Use Google Analytics, Segment, Mixpanel, or similar services
• Include advertising networks or SDKs
• Build a profile of your behavior
• Share data with third parties for marketing
• Use cookies for tracking purposes
• Include third‑party SDKs other than OpenAI for the AI explanation feature described above

Security

Your data security is paramount:

• All data is encrypted at rest using iOS security standards
• The app uses secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities
• We receive automatic security updates from Apple's platform
• Data in transit uses industry-standard encryption

Age & Children

Private Female Biomarker is intended for adults ages 18 and older. Do not use this app if you are under 18.
